Coal Minister planning to shift CIL headquarter to Ranchi step by step
Realising he may not be able to shift the Coal India headquarters to Ranchi at one go, Coal Minister Sibu Soren has quietly set in motion a plan to do this step by step. Already the Coal India chairman has been asked to set up an office for himself in Ranchi at the offices of subsidiary Central Coalfields Ltd. Work is on at Darbhanga House, the CCL headquarters, to set up a CIL chairman's chamber. CIL sources said Soren has asked the Chairman to be in Ranchi for a few days every week for better co-ordination with the minister, who keeps visiting Ranchi.
After politicians and bureaucrats, it is turn of industrialists to get land at throwaway prices
Close on the heels of 'gifting' land to politicians and bureaucrats, the State government is now ready with a plan to offer land to industrialists at throwaway prices. Revenue and Land Reforms Minister Madhu Singh said on Thursday that the government would create a land bank and offer plots to entrepreneurs at 'government rates' for setting up industrial units. His department has vetted the proposal. 'It now lies with the Chief Minister. Thereafter, it would be placed before the Cabinet,' the minister told media on Thursday."
